Hello and thanks for sharing.
An excellent work out strategy you've got going there!
And considering the costs of playing a double combo even as a 3 way box combo the ROI is still way better because there are only 3 combos to content with instead of 6 as in a single digit box combo play. My motto to play doubles..."Pay less....Win More"
Here are a few tips which I've observed/employed over the years while filtering picks to play in a batch of doubles. Maybe you can back test this in NM to see if it holds true for your state.
-Always watch out for doubles to play on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
-A double usually plays following any prior draw with a "0" in its results.
-If two or more consecutive draws are single hits watch out for a double to hit soon after.
-Only play doubles starting with high digits such as 6,7,8 or 9 on an occassional basis.
-Doubles starting with lower digits such as 0,1,2,3,4 & 5 tends to hit more often.
-Last but not least...within a 30 days (60 draws) month of plays doubles hit at least 8-12 times.
So....those are my little bits of nuggets which I've observed over the years concerning double combo plays no matter which territory world wide the Pick 3 game is played in. Don't forget also the odds to hit a double box is less than the odds to hit a single box.
Peace!
