Right on the money! ...The AI is predicting the actual Pairsum. The student AI cant see what the next pairsum winner is. It is only using pattern recognition and being guided and taught by the teacher to improve predictions. This is exactly what I saw when I worked with Grok4-Heavy manually.
When filtering the Pairsums by their 8Pairsums, it showed more correct predictions. In this example, It was matching the right 8Pairsum digit.
